THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS
An adaptation of an 18th century Italian commedia dell’arte play, The Servant of Two Masters centers on harlequin Truffaldino’s comical attempts to improve his lot in life. As Truffaldino tries to follow the orders of two bosses who are unaware of each other, he must avoid revealing that he is doubly employed.
Inspired by a 2009 production at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, we chose to use primarily costume items from existing house stock and/or upcycled materials as a wry nod to the impact of budget cuts within the arts.
